Five greatest MLb’s gifs 2013

These are the five greatest MLB GIFs from 2013

With the Baseball Writers Association announcing the winners of MLB’s postseason awards this week, For The Win is rolling out our own series of awards honoring players’ accomplishments during the 2013 season.

The debut award will go to the greatest GIF of the season. First, the runners up for the FTW Best MLB GIF of 2013:

All of Yu Darvish’s pitches

The Rangers’ ace has a collection of pitches that move like they’re wiffleballs and he throws them all from very similar release points. This incredible GIF from April shows five of his pitches at once.

Miguel Cabrera disses Dustin Pedroia

In addition to being pretty much the best at hitting, Miguel Cabrera is also a very large man. Dustin Pedroia is generously listed at 5’8″ tall. Put them in the same All-Star lineup hilarity ensues.

Prince Fielder steals a nacho

Baseball games are long, and sturdily built players like Prince Fielder can really work up an appetite. Luckily, there are nachos.

Troy Tulowitzki among the many impressed by Jose Fernandez

This GIF is like a one-act play. Troy Tulowitzki thought he might have hit the ball so hard it disappeared, but instead Jose Fernandez just caught it like, “No big deal.”

And FTW’s MLB GIF of the Year for 2013 is:

Yasiel Puig does the worm

Puig took about a week to establish himself as one of the most GIFable players in Major League history. Later, to celebrate, he did the worm. It has everything: His incredible athleticism, his unfailing exuberance, and an amazing little jig at the end to make the people happy.
