Game 1 of the ALCS saw as low-scoring of a game as can be, but Game 2 was a very different story. It featured plenty of offense punctuated by one of the most dramatic home runs you’ll ever see. Let’s GIF it!

The Tigers got the scoring started early in this one when Alex Avila knocked this RBI single:

This game wasn’t all about offense though. Max Scherzer no-hit the Red Sox for 5 2/3 innings and struck out 13. And on Boston’s side, Dustin Pedroia made this awesome play in the third:

In the sixth, it looked like everything was going to go Detroit’s way. Miguel Cabrera homered:

Prince Fielder and Victor Martinez doubled, and then Avila did this:

The Red Sox answered, scoring their first run of the series in the bottom of the inning when Pedroia doubled off the Green Monster and knocked in Shane Victorino:

But the real dramatics were yet to even begin. In the bottom of the eighth, down 5-1, Boston loaded the bases, and then, well, take it away, Big Papi:

Torii Hunter came thiiiiis close to making a sensational catch on it, and tumbled into the Red Sox bullpen in the process:

To give us a brief respite from all these dramatics, why not this GIF of a small child waving/taunting at Prince Fielder after he muffed a pop foul in the ninth?

Okay, back to the serious stuff. With the game tied 5-5, Jonny Gomes singled, advanced to second on an error, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and then came home on Jarrod Saltalamacchia’s walk-off single:

What a breath-taking game! Being led 5-0 and still was able to pull the cord with a fabulous grand-slam and walk-off. I am guessing the Tigers would be so pissed as the Fenway went bananas yesterday. Ways to go! # walkoffcity #grandslam #fearthe beard
